Michigan Student Voice Perception Survey
Grand Ledge High School will be taking part in the MI Student Voice Perception Survey next week.
The survey will be administered to students in grades 9-12 and is designed to provide a holistic picture of the student experience beyond test scores. Topics covered include perceptions of students’ engagement, belonging and social-emotional learning. Survey data will be used by school administrators to help guide district improvement planning for school instruction and services. Students are our first priority and we believe it’s important to listen to them to help make the educational experience better. Click Here for More Information on the Purpose of the Survey
The survey does not ask questions regarding drug or alcohol use, intimate relationships, political or religious affiliations or other personal information. Click Here for More Information on the Questions
Students will be asked to complete the survey online using a Chromebook or other computer. The anonymous survey is designed to protect students' privacy. The survey has under 40 questions and is expected to take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
We encourage all students to take part in the survey, as we hope to gather a lot of important information on their school experiences. Participation is voluntary. Students may skip any question they do not wish to answer and may stop participating in the survey at any point, without penalty. Click Here for Frequently Asked Questions About the Survey
If you want to opt out of having your child participate in the survey, the students will be instructed to tell their C3 teacher that they wish to opt out of the survey.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me (Ken Wright - wrightk@glcomets.net)

Saturday School Dates for 2nd Trimester
Attendance Matters - what is Saturday School at GLHS and when might a student need to attend? Attendance is an essential component to a student's academic success. Often, the number of days that students are absent accumulate without them realizing how name days have been missed.
If a student reaches 7 absences in any class per trimester without documentation, they may lose credit and the privilege to participate in extracurricular activities, including school dances. The student would then be encouraged to attend Saturday School with our Deans of Students to work on school assignments to ensure credit.
Saturday School runs from 8:00am – 11:00am in the Media Center. Remaining 2nd Tri. dates for Saturday School at GLHS are:
January 24
February 28
Building Access After School Hours
Please be sure to coordinate rides at the end of the school day. Students are only allowed to be in the building after 3:15 for organized activities, supervised by a teacher, advisor, or coach. Students who are involved in those activities must also stay in the designated area for those activities, and cannot wander the building. Students waiting for rides must wait in the front lobby or outside, and should not engage in any horseplay. Students not adhering to these guidelines may be asked to leave the building.
