Saturday School Dates for 2nd Trimester Attendance Matters - what is Saturday School at GLHS and when might a student need to attend? Attendance is an essential component to a student's academic success. Often, the number of days that students are absent accumulate without them realizing how name days have been missed.
If a student reaches 7 absences in any class per trimester without documentation, they may lose credit and the privilege to participate in extracurricular activities, including school dances. The student would then be encouraged to attend Saturday School with our Deans of Students to work on school assignments to ensure credit.
Saturday School runs from 8:00am – 11:00am in the Media Center. 2nd Trimester dates for Saturday School at GLHS are:
January 10 January 24 February 28
Building Access After School Hours Please be sure to coordinate rides at the end of the school day. Students are only allowed to be in the building after 3:15 for organized activities, supervised by a teacher, advisor, or coach. Students who are involved in those activities must also stay in the designated area for those activities, and cannot wander the building. Students waiting for rides must wait in the front lobby or outside, and should not engage in any horseplay. Students not adhering to these guidelines may be asked to leave the building.
