RECOGNITIONS & CELEBRATORY NEWS
Lions Club Student of the Month
Congratulations to Lydia Jagger for being selected as the September 2025 Grand Ledge Lions Club Student of the Month!
At the Grand Ledge Lions Club monthly meetings, September through April, the members will honor a Grand Ledge Senior, nominated by their high school teachers. This award is given based on volunteer service in the school and in the community. The eight monthly winners are then given the opportunity to compete for a $1000.00 scholarship. A member of the Lions Club will present the scholarship award to the recipient at the Senior Recognition Ceremony in May.

Shout Outs!
Boys' Varsity Tennis The Boy's Varsity Tennis team travelled to Flushing this past Saturday and won first place over Flushing, Saginaw Heritage, and Traverse City West, followed up with convincing wins over Eaton Rapids (7-1) and conference rival Holt (7-1). Currently the varsity record is 12-2-1, finishing the regular season in 3rd place with a 3-2 record in the CAAC Blue!
Girl's Cross Country A shout out to the girls cross country team who finished 8th out of 22 teams in the elite division of the Shepherd Blue Jay Invite on Sat 9/27. The Comet varsity girls recorded 4 lifetime fastest races and 3 season best races.
Boy's Cross Country In Varsity, the boys finished 2nd, falling only to Division 2 state-title contenders Flint Powers Catholic. We handily overtook several state-ranked teams, including Lowell, who is ranked #2 in Division 1 and East Grand Rapids, ranked #1 in Division 2. In the Junior Varsity, Micah Couser finished in a strong 3rd with a blazing 17:22 finish, running a minute faster than last year. Noah Thelen, Noah Heriford, Will Drake, and Ethan Bussis (who ran 2 and a half minutes faster than last year!!) rounded out our scoring line-up to lead us to finish second only to Traverse City West's JV squad.
Our seniors will have a mandatory senior meeting in the auditorium with Dr. Wright on October 22nd beginning promptly at 8:05am to discuss senior plans, graduation requirements, and cap/gown ordering information.
